Laura Solano, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant, author, and educator based in North Texas, with over a decade of experience in family medicine. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, following completion of a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Texas at Arlington. She later went on to complete a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) with a focus on education. 
 
Solano is the author of “Continuous Glucose Monitors: A Guide for Primary Care Clinicians,” a clinically focused book that helps cliniciansunderstand, prescribe, and interpret continuous glucose monitoring to better manage diabetes in everyday practice.  
 
In addition to her clinical practice in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, Solano serves in academic and leadership roles, including faculty positions, electronic medical records optimization, and professional groups such as the Society of Physician Assistants in Genetics and Genomics. Last, Solano serves in leadership roles at the Association of PAs and NPs. Solano enjoys writing and learning about various topics, including genetics, technology, smoking cessation in adolescents, and education.
